Vice President and Flagbearer of the NPP, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has promised to address the impasse between the Energy Commission and traders of imported used electrical gadgets which puts the country at a risk of being turned into a hub for electronic waste.
Talks have been ongoing to ban the importation of used electronic appliances despite resistance from the dealers.
Addressing traders at Lapaz, one of the popular markets for used gadgets, as part of his campaign tour of the Okaikoi Central, North and South Constituencies, Dr Bawumia assured the traders of solving the issue while pledging to introduce a tax regime that will bring relief to traders.
