The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Members in Ghana’s Parliament have alleged that the Attorney General and Minister of Justice Designate, Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, is finding himself in a conflict-of-interest position.
According to the group, Dr. Dominic Ayine’s law firm and personally represents companies that have filed arbitration claims above 500 million US dollars.
The NPP Minority accused, at a press conference held today, Wednesday, 15 January 2025, of enquiring if Ghanaians can go to sleep believing that their money will be safe and that it will not be stolen through the payment of dubious judgment debts, as the country witnessed in the Wayome case.
“Ladies and gentlemen of the media, watch the space for GPGC and Cassius Mining arbitration claims against the Government of Ghana. In any serious country, we believe the Attorney General Designate would not have accepted the appointment,” he stated.
