Lawyers for Precious Ayitah, a private citizen who has sued the Electoral Commission, have expressed anger at impediments being put in their way in their attempt to serve the EC with contempt processes.

Precious had sued the EC over its decision to restrict the Limited Registration exercise to its District offices.

According to him, the distance from his home to the office is long, and he is unable to afford the transportation cost. He had also filed an interlocutory injunction against the EC.

The EC had defied an injunction application served on them and commenced the limited registration exercise on Monday.

Lawyers for Precious have thus filed a contempt suit against the chairperson of the EC and two of her deputies. Lead Counsel, Nii Kpakpo Samoa Addo, told GBC News that the Commission is ”frustrating attempts by Court Bailiffs to serve the EC officials”.
