Security Expert, Adam Bonna, says the EC is partly responsible for the heightening tension in the country and it is important for the institution to take immediate steps to curtail it before it escalates.
He is of the view, the feuding parties in the just ended Presidential Election have some concerns, which need to be addressed.
Speaking on a Morning Show in Accra, Mr. Bonna said it is critical for the EC to come clear on the questions being asked especially the NDC’s demands to make public the declared collated results of Techiman South constituency.
On the Police order summoning MP for Tamale Central Inusah Fuseini to the police CID, Mr Bonna described it as bad timing, given the current volatile atmosphere created by Opposition protests and police standoff.
He said the police restraining order placed on NDC demonstrators and the others add to the already poisoned atmosphere.
He is of the view that Common Sense and civility are important, adding that, the arbitrary application of the Law may not be the best option at this time.
