IPAC Meeting: Bring your data to support discrepancies in Provisional Voters Register – EC to NDC

IPAC meeting will be broadcast live on October 1

Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Mrs. Jean Mensa.

The Electoral Commission has called on political parties and all stakeholders attending the Tuesday, October 1, 2024, crucial Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC), meeting to bring along evidence and data to support any discrepancies or concerns they may have regarding the Provisional Voters Register.

The EC emphasised that this approach will ensure collaborative efforts to resolve any outstanding issues with the register. In a statement on Monday, September 30, the EC also pointed out that, despite repeated requests, the National Democratic Congress has yet to provide data on the alleged discrepancies for which it has demanded a forensic audit of the PVR.

The EC expects that the NDC and other stakeholders will present their data at the upcoming IPAC meeting. The Commission reiterated that the production of the Final Voters Register is a process, not a one-time event, and assured the public that it remains committed to working with IPAC to address any concerns. Meanwhile, the NDC has renewed its call for the EC to allow live media coverage of the IPAC meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, October 1, 2024.

NDC’s Director of Elections, Dr. Omane Boamah, expressed in a Facebook post that live coverage would provide Ghanaians with real-time, unbiased information on the state of the 2024 voter register, following the EC’s self-audit process.
