EC opens updated Voters Register online from October 15 to 19

The Electoral Commission (EC), managers of elections in Ghana says the date for the re-exhibition of the 2024 Provisional Voter Register (PVR) is from Tuesday, October 15 to Sunday, October 19, 2024.

According to the electoral management body, the re-exhibition will be done online and not the usual display of the PVR at the various polling stations across the country.

The EC in a statement issued in Accra today, 14th October 2024 announcing the date for the commencement of the re-exhibition (online only) said the re-exhibition is a fulfillment of an assurance made to political parties during the Special Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting held in October 1, 2024.

The online re-exhibition, according to the commission, will allow registered voters to verify their details and report any discrepancies to the Commission for correction.

“The Electoral Commission wishes to announce for the information of the General Public, Registered Voters, and all Stakeholders, that the Re-Exhibition of the Provisional Voters Register (PVR) will commence on Tuesday, 15th October, and end on Saturday, 19th October 2024.”

From Tuesday, October 15, voters can check their details via short code 71151# free of charge.

Voters should click on the pop-up link at the bottom-right corner of the screen and enter the 10-digit Voter ID number to receive their voter registration details.” Portions of the statement read.

The online re-exhibition aims to facilitate a smoother voting process ahead of the 2024 General Elections.

The Commission again called on the general public to report any identified discrepancies to its District Office for corrections.

“The Public should note that any discrepancies identified must be reported to the District Office of the Commission where they are registered voters for correction. Once the Re-Exhibition Exercise ends on Saturday, 19th October, voters will still be able to check their details Online but CANNOT request for correction of their details.” It reiterated.

It also urged political parties to use the Template provided to submit any discrepancies identified during the re-exhibition period.

“Political Parties are required to use the Template provided by the Commission to submit any discrepancies identified during the Re-Exhibition period,” The statement added.
