The Director of Elections of the NDC, Dr Edward Omane Boamah has urged the Electoral Commission(EC) to disclose the exact reasons for the shortfalls in ballot papers meant for the Volta Region. Dr Boamah said the information available indicates that the shortfall was caused by the Electoral Commission.
In a Facebook post Dr. Boamah said following the release by the EC, the NDC engaged its team that observed the printing and bagging process at Act Commercial printing house.
Speaking to the Media at an ongoing IPAC meeting, Deputy Director of Elections and IT of the NDC, Dr Rashid Tanko-Computer, said EC committed an avoidable error as Acts Commercial only compiled with the ballot statistics submitted to them. He expressed worry that such discrepancies would occur in no other place than the NDC’s stronghold.
Director of Elections of NPP, Evans Nimako said NDC agents were available throughout the process to cross-check everything.
He said the EC is a Human institution and mistakes are bound to happen, however, what is important is that the EC has realized its mistake and is taking steps to remedy the situation.
