Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey, newly appointed General Secretary and campaign team leader for the National Democratic Party (NDC), has expressed concerns about the trustworthiness of the Electoral Commission.

He believes that the president putting people who are carebearers into such office compromises the trustworthiness of the Electoral Commission.

Fiifi Kwetey was appointed to lead the campaign team after extensive consultations, the Functional Executive Committee finalized the team at their meeting on June 18, 2024.

Speaking on GTV’s “Talking Point” on June 23, 2024, Kwetey stated, “The president’s actions have led to the collapse of the country.

“This has led to the collapse of the country to have a situation where president could actually be putting into the top of the Electoral Commission people who are known to be card bearers of this political party and actually expect the country to believe that people can preserve free and partial election.”

This is the level of collapse we’ve seen under the Government of the president Akuffo Addo and the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, he said”.

Kwetey emphasized that the NDC will make sure they keep an open eyes, police every step and make sure they do everything that at the end of the day their performance, hardwork and diligence will deliver the results.
