First Lady Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo is urging the electorate to choose number 1 on the ballot paper come December 7. The First Lady, who was speaking while on the campaign tour in Abokobi, which is part of the Dome Kwabenya constituency, said the NPP administration has shown a lot more commitment to the development of this country in the 4th republic than any party contesting in the elections.
Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo earlier met with the chiefs and traditional leaders in the Ga East Municipality. She then met party supporters at the Zimmermann Presbyterian church at Abokobi, went on to Amasaman, and later visited the Dome market crèche where she donated items including diapers, washing powders, toilet rolls, and detergents, among others.
While interacting with the market women and constituents, she said the only choice in the December 7 election is the NPP. She said by voting for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP Flagbearer, and the parliamentary candidates in Dome Kwabenya and Amasaman, the electorates would ensure that Ghana gets development-oriented leaders to continue the good works of the NPP.
Mrs Akufo-Addo particularly appealed to the Abokobi electorates to change their voting pattern and vote massively for the NPP. The first lady promised to lobby for a creche for Abokobi if they deliver a win for the NPP both in the presidential and parliamentary elections.
NPP Parliamentary candidate for Dome Kwabenya, Mike Ocquaye Junior, promised to ensure development in the constituency. He said he would facilitate the upgrade of their health centre into a polyclinic, build a nurses and doctors quarters attached to the clinic, complete work on the Abokobi SHS, complete an ongoing information centre, and create a borehole for the community.
At Amasaman, Mrs Akufo-Addo interacted with PWDs, market women, hairdressers, seamstresses, and bakers. She encouraged them to throw their weight behind the NPP to ensure continuity of good policies such as the free SHS and Agenda 111, among others.
NPP Parliamentary candidate for Amasaman, Mr Yahya Kassim Atta, promised to continue with the development projects undertaken in the constituency by his predecessor if voted as the MP for the area.
Chief Executive of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, Elizabeth Sackey, cautioned them against spoilt and rejected ballots. She explained the quantity of spoilt and rejected ballots, when added to votes for the NPP, can propel the party to victory in next month’s elections.
