Former President Jerry John Rawlings has officially informed government of the passing of his mother, Madam Victoria Agbotui.
The funeral will take place on Saturday, October 24, with a non-denominational service at the Forecourt of the State House, after which the body will be conveyed to Dzelukope for interment.
The Stool Father of the Anlo State, Ambassador Dan Abodakpi, who is also Chairman of the Central Planning Committee of Madam Agbotui’s funeral, announced this when a delegation from Anlo state paid a courtesy call on President Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House.
Government had earlier conveyed its condolences to former President Rawlings through Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
President Akufo-Addo said he will be available for the church service but expressed regrets of his inability to attend the burial.
