Former President John Mahama has expressed concern about the way the economy is being managed by the government.
According to him, the government is using propaganda to manipulate the economic figures to throw dust into the eyes of the people, but the reality of the lives of Ghanaians will eventually expose the government.
Mr. Mahama was speaking in Tamale as part of his tour of the Northern region. The Former President is on a day’s tour to the Northern region to thank the people who voted for the Party during the 2020 General Election.
He is expected to pay courtesy calls on some paramount chiefs as well as visit Yendi and the Gbewa Palace to round up his tour.
Mr. Mahama said, unfortunately, the current government is blaming the harsh economic situation in the Country on the COVID-19 pandemic, adding that inflation and deficit figures are being put out to look good whereas in reality, they are increasing by the day.
Mr. Mahama said Ghanaians, particularly the youth are gradually losing faith and confidence in the democratic governance of the country because of government’s misinformation.
He said the ‘fixthecountry’ movement is a result of disappointment in collective leadership and the earlier the leaders listen and dialogue with them, the better.
