Former President John Mahama has donated assorted food items to be distributed to twenty thousand households in communities under lockdown in the Greater Accra Region, Awutu Senya East Municipality and Greater Kumasi Area.

The items will be distributed by Traditional Authorities, Faith Based and Civil Society Organisations as well as other recognized bodies.

The former President urged the government to use such bodies in the distribution of hot meals to vulnerable people in lockdown areas to guarantee transparency, accountability, fairness and respect for the social distancing protocol.

Former President Mahama asked Ghanaians to be united in the fight against covid-19 and asked the President to as a matter urgency meet the National House of Chiefs over reports that some communities are resisting attempts to use facilities in their jurisdictions as holding centers.
