Franklin Cudjoe, president of IMANI Africa, has urged the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to investigate harassment claims by alleged supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Reports indicate that civil servants are being coerced to leave government housing in Roman Ridge, and ongoing renovation projects have been disrupted.

In a Facebook post dated December 29, 2024, Cudjoe denounced these actions as “uncivil” and called for intervention from NDC leadership.

A worried civil servant contacted Cudjoe, expressing concerns for the safety of occupants and their families and requesting the IGP’s immediate action to restore order and uphold the rule of law. Cudjoe had previously informed the IGP about the situation before addressing it publicly.

This incident highlights worries about the politicization of the civil service and the risk of violence.

A swift response from the IGP is essential to address these allegations and ensure the safety of civil servants and their families. Additionally, the NDC leadership must take accountability for the actions of their supporters and strive for a peaceful resolution.
