Former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay, has expressed strong disagreement with the manner in which Deputy Minority Leader Armah-Kofi Buah addressed President Akuffo Addo during the final State of the Nation Address.

Hon. Blay further mentioned that he would not permit his newspapers to discuss former President John Mahama in the same manner as Buah spoke about President Akufo Addo. He strongly disagreed with Buah’s remarks and suggested that Buah’s behavior could have stemmed from either mischief or ignorance of the President’s speech.

“I wouldn’t have my newspapers talk about John Mahama the way Armah-Kofi Buah addressed the president, I disagree with Armah-Kofi Buah and I don’t think what he said was right”.

He made these statements during a discussion about the aftermath of the election on the GTV’s Breakfast Show on Monday, January 6, 2025.

Furthermore, Blay noted that if the current government was as bad as Buah claimed, some Members of Parliament might have faced imprisonment.

As a seasoned politician and lawyer, Blay’s comments carry significant weight, given his experience serving in multiple parliamentary terms, representing the Ellembelle Constituency in the Western Region.
