Presidential Candidate of the New Vision Movement, Kofi Koranteng reveals that Ghana lacks the necessary components for a 24-hour economy, specifically calling out the need for connectivity, complexity, and competency.

He argues that without addressing corruption, a 24-hour economy would only lead to “24-hour corruption”

Koranteng emphasizes that no other country has implemented a 24-hour economy, making Ghana’s attempt futile without the right foundation.

He uses a thought-provoking analogy, “It doesn’t serve the country to bring a bigger basket to fetch water if the basket already leaks,” to drive home the importance of fixing underlying issues before expanding economic operations. Koranteng also questions the effectiveness of a large labor force if they lack competence.

In an attempt to ridicule the NDC for their main policy of a 24-hour economy, he mentioned that, if Ghana does not solve her problem of corruption, the 24-hour economy will be useless because it will only bring about 24-hour corruption.

According to him, If there is no connectivity, complexity, and competency, we can not build a 24-hour economy’’.

Speaking in an interview on GTV Breakfast, he ended by asking if a country has a labor force of a thousand million people and they are incompetent, what will they be doing?

He added that, even If everyone in Ghana is working, it does not mean everyone will make money.
