President John Mahama has promised to quickly address the dangerous situation faced by pupils in Asuokow, Eastern Region, who risk their lives daily crossing a water body to get to school.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, February 9, he revealed that the affected community had been identified and that immediate steps were being taken to provide a lasting solution.

“Earlier today, the MP for Lower West Akim, Owen Kwame Frimpong, visited the Asuokow community and assured them the Eastern Regional Minister will also visit, as we work to permanently and urgently resolve the challenge the people and the school children are confronted with,” the President stated.
President Mahama stated that his Reset Ghana agenda prioritises removing obstacles to education and healthcare, ensuring that every Ghanaian has equal opportunities.
“Our quest to Reset Ghana includes a determination to remove barriers to education and healthcare across the country,” he stated.
