The Ministry of Youth and Sports, has described as false and frivolous, allegations that the President’s daughter, Gyankroma Akufo-Addo, was awarded a contract to airlift members of the Black Stars Supporters Union, to the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.

A statement signed by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Isaac  Asiamah, said the false reports are a calculated attempt to soil the name of the President because the contract was awarded to White Oak Limited, a travel and tour firm.

The statement stressed that all flight arrangements regarding the airlifting of the supporters, officials of the Ministry and other key stakeholders were overseen by a five-member Committee from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Attorney General and Ministry of Justice.

The committee was tasked with the responsibility of ensuring the successful organisation of Ghana Supporters and other officials to support the Black Stars in the country’s quest to win the AFCON Cup.
