The Ranking Member on the Roads and Transport Committee, Kwame Governs Agbodza wants some Senior Members of the Governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) brought before the Privileges Committee for comments they made which he believes are contemptuous of Parliament.
NPP General Secretary, John Boadu and Senior Presidential Advisor, Yaw Osafo Marfo are said to have made comments in relation to the Speaker’s directive to the Road Minister to withdraw his directive about cessation of collection of Road Tolls.
Mr. Boadu is reported to have said at an NPP Conference in the Central Region that the Speaker himself should go to the Toll Booths to ensure the collection of the Road Tolls.
Mr. Agbodza while contributing to the debate on the Budget argued that those comments are denigrating to the Speaker and Parliament and the people must be summoned before the Privileges Committee as was done to Black Rasta and Professor Dodoo.
