The Institute of Democratic Governance, IDEG and the Civic Forum Institute have added their voice to calls for the NDC to go to court to seek redress on the electoral results.
The two organizations said the court has the mandate to determine election-related issues.
Going to court they say does not amount to a lost cause.
Speaking on behalf of IDEG and CFI, Executive Director of Ark Foundation Angela Dwamena Aboagye called on the Police to respect the rights of NDC members as they protest and protect them.
She said the political and civil rights of all persons to demonstrate when they disagree with an issue must be upheld.
Dr. Angela Dwamena–Aboagye explained that though the aggrieved parties may be concerned over the length of time required in pursuing court cases, the constitution provides a tight schedule of statutory dates for the swearing-in of the elected president and parliamentarians.
She also said as the parties demonstrate, they must ensure to secure police protection, and to be careful the demonstration is not infiltrated by agents of provocation who may seek to incite acts of violence.
The Executive Director of IDEG, Emmanuel Akwetey called on the IGP and the election security task force to make known the culprits who were arrested and bring those perpetrators to face the law.
