A Board Member of Ghana Gas Company and a private legal Practitioner, John Darko, has emerged victorious in the Suame NPP Parliamentary Primaries.

He polled 491 out of the 914 ballots cast to defeat his closest contender, Mr. Maxwell Osei Boakye.

Correspondent Nicholas Osei-Wusu reports that Mr. Osei Boakye, who is the Suame AME Municipal Chief Executive, polled 410 of the valid votes cast with Pius Acheampong- getting only five votes.

The other Candidate, Kwabena Adubofuor had three votes with five rejected ballots. With this win, Lawyer John Darko is likely
to succeed one of Ghana’s longest serving Members of Parliament, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu who retires at the end of the present Parliament in January 2025.

Speaking to GBCNews in his victory speech, Mr. Darko pledged to unite the rank and file of the party in the Constituency to help the NPP increase its votes in the December 7 elections.

Meanwhile, in the Manhyia North Constituency, the Incumbent MP, Kwasi Konadu won with 389 votes as against 283 polled by his immediate predecessor, Collins Owusu Amankwaah. The 3rd Candidate, Nana Bamfo had 15 out of the total of 691 ballots cast.
