Ghana’s Economy: Former President John Mahama says all hope is not lost

Mr. Mahama says, although the current energy situation looks bleak, with many Ghanaians bearing the brunt of the worst economic conditions in recent history, he wants to state emphatically that all hope is not lost.

In a presentation offering solutions to Ghana’s current challenges, Mr. Mahama emphasized that the key lies in implementing efficient and effective policies.

“At its core, governance is about solving real problems that impact our people. It demands confidence in ideas and the humility to take responsibility, engaging with diverse groups and individuals, harnessing their insights and experiences to craft and implement effective policies.”

He reiterated that the NDC has proposed workable solutions to the country’s challenges, particularly in the energy sector.

“I am glad to inform you that, following a series of consultations with many of you, the next NDC government has developed a well-thought-out plan and a comprehensive strategy to restore and transform Ghana’s energy sector,” he said.

Mr. Mahama stated, “Our energy system will be the backbone of a 24-hour economy, where businesses can operate around the clock, creating jobs and driving inclusive growth and economic prosperity.”
