”I will instill discipline, hard work, integrity and accountability among Ghanaians especially the youth to spur development”.
This is a pledge by NPP Presidential Hopeful and Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Mr Kennedy Ohene Agyapong. The man Kennedy Agyapong is selling his message to Ghanaians especially the NPP delegates as he throws his hat into the race to lead the party into the 2024 general election.
Mr. Agyapong plans to embark on a massive Industrialisation Drive, Tourism and Commercial Farming to transform Ghana’s economy.
Early Life:
This Ghanaian politician and businessman represents Assin Central in parliament for the New Patriotic Party. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong was born to the late Francis Ohene Kofi Agyapong and Mrs. Mary Nsiah at Assin Dompim in the Central Region on the 16th June, 1960 at Assin Dompim in the Central Region, turning 60 years in 2020. He had his secondary education at Adisadel College, also in the Central Region. Mr. Agyapong holds a GCE A-Level and studied at Fordham University, New York, USA.
Political Life:
He’s been a member of Parliament for almost 24-years. He was first elected a member of parliament in 2000 to the Assin North seat, retaining the seat in the 2004 and 2008 parliamentary elections. In 2012 he was elected to the new seat of Assin Central and re-elected in 2016. According to him, he has been a financier of the New Patriotic Party since 1992, supporting the party in critical periods. Kennedy Agyapong is married to Stella Wilson Agyapong and has 22 children with most of them living in the United States. Mr Agyepong is believed to be one of the leading contestants in the NPP Presidential Primaries rubbing shoulders with Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Mr. Alan Kyeremateng and other stalwarts in this year’s presidential campaign. This is his first attempt to lead the New Patriotic Party as a Flagbearer. Mr. Kennedy Agyepong’s main campaign message is on a massive Industrialisation Drive, Tourism and Commercial Farming to transform the economy.
To him, Ghana has a lot of natural resources which if harnessed judiciously can turn the country’s fortunes around.
He is also promising support for the party members at the grassroots.

Mr. Agyapong says he will use his monthly salary to set up a Scholarship scheme to support education for the needy, but brilliant students.

Mr. Kennedy Agyapong holds the view that, his experience as Member of Parliament, Businessman and long-standing politician gives him a good chance to lead the NPP to break the Eight.
