GBC Online understands that a total of One Thousand Two Hundred Forty-Six (1,246) registered voters are expected to take part in the incoming special voting slated for December 2, 2024, ahead of the December 7 Parliamentary and Presidential elections in Ketu South Constituency of the Volta Region.

According to Electoral Commission officials at the Ketu South Municipality, there will be two polling stations, A and B, with Six Hundred and Twenty-Four (624) and Six Hundred and Twenty-Two (622) voters, respectively.

The election will take place at the forecourt of the Assembly, Tokor.

The poll will open at 7:00 am and close at 5:00 pm, as will any other general election.

According to the Electoral Commission, special voting is a facility provided by law to allow registered voters who will not be able to present themselves at their polling stations due to the role they play in the elections to vote on a date before the rest of the electorate vote on the date set for the election.

Special voting is only allowed for general elections.

To qualify for it, a person must be a registered voter in the constituency to be able to apply to be part of special voting in the constituency, or the person should have transferred his/her vote to the constituency; and he/she must be a security official, accredited media personnel, or staff of the EMB.
