President John Dramani Mahama’s nominee for the position of District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Krachi Nchumuru District Assembly in the Oti Region, Mr. Anato Kofi Martin, has been confirmed by the Assembly Members.
Mr. Kofi Martin secured 100% of the votes cast by the 25 Assembly Members, comprising both elected members and government appointees, as prescribed by law.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Kofi Martin expressed his gratitude and promised to collaborate with the Assembly Members to drive development in the Nchumuru District.
He also pledged to adopt an open-door policy to promote open governance, where all residents of the district are welcome to share ideas and actively participate in the Assembly’s development agenda.
Nana Akwasi Omankumetey II, Banda Tekpan Wuts, pledged to donate land for development projects in the district, focusing on key areas such as enhancing educational infrastructure and resources, improving healthcare facilities and services, boosting agricultural productivity and development, and fostering economic growth and investment.
The Oti Regional Minister, Mr. John Gyapong Kwadwo, in his address, advised the people of the Oti Region to prioritize development over party politics.
He revealed that the region has received over 70 investment applications and highlighted the government’s Big Push initiative aimed at accelerating regional development.
One of the key projects planned for the Nchumuru District is the construction of a bridge over the Oti River, which is expected to enhance connectivity and facilitate economic growth.
