The Majority Chief Whip and NDC Spokesperson on Roads, Kwame Governs Agbodza, has been nominated by President John Mahama as the Minister for Roads and Highways designate.

Mr. Agbodza, a Member of Parliament for the Adaklu Constituency in the Volta Region, represents the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He currently serves as the Chief Whip in Ghana’s Parliament and is a Ranking Member of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Roads and Highways.

In the recent election, Mr. Agbodza secured his parliamentary seat with 11,825 votes out of 13,440 valid votes cast, representing 87.98%. Following his victory, he was elected by Parliament to join the Roads and Transportation Committee as well as the Committee on Members Holding Offices of Profit.

Mr. Agbodza has been the Managing Director of Southworld Technical Services since 1999. He also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Architects Co-Partners, a position he has held since 2010, and Kay and Partners, where he has been CEO since 2012.

Born on 22 September 1973 in Adaklu Kordiabe in the Volta Region of Ghana, Mr. Agbodza pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He later obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Architecture from the University of Westminster and a Diploma in Architecture from the University of East London.

He is a Chartered Architect, certified by both the Royal Institute of British Architects and the Ghana Institute of Architects.

A Christian by faith, Mr. Agbodza is married and has two children.
