LPG PC promises to transform Keta Constituency into a food hub

The Parliamentary Candidate for Keta Constituency on the ticket of Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Yayra Kwashie Kwawu has promised to transform the area into a food hub if given the opportunity come December 7, 2024.

According to him, he will work diligently to “improve agriculture and transform the Keta Constituency into a food hub” within four years of his administration as a Member of Parliament using parts of the MPs Common Fund and funds from private sources.

Mr. Kwawu in an exclusive interview with gbcghanaonline.com said he’s prepared to deploy the needed smart technology for sustainable farming for high yields for all products especially the traditional crops like maize, beans, cassava, mango, Coconut, sweet potato as well as blackberry.

When it comes to fish farming, he promised to introduce and train both old and new industry players in aquaculture to undertake prolific tilapia, cut fish, crab and shrimp on the Keta Lagoon Complex and other water bodies in and around the Constituency for domestic consumption and for export.

He also pledged to develop professional football players locally by investing in talented players through rigorous training, coaching and organizing competitive games for the local leagues for export.

In addition, he mentioned skill training for the youth in the areas of tailoring, head dressing, carpentry, bakery, Information Technology, fish farming, and mini for processing and packaging as value addition.

According to the notice of poll by the Electoral Commission four persons have successfully filed to contest the upcoming Parliamentary election including one independent in person of Dugah Stanley Courage. The rest are Courage Goldberg-Gerimm Lekettey on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party and the incumbent member of Parliament for Area on the ticket of the National Democratic congress, Kwame Dzudzorli Gapkey.
