Mahama Ayariga, the Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, is the new Majority Leader in Parliament. Today, he will take over from Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, who is now the Minister for Finance.

Mr. Ayariga’s appointment marks a significant shift in the NDC’s parliamentary leadership, and his experience as a seasoned politician and lawyer is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the direction of the NDC’s parliamentary strategy.

This development is part of a larger reshuffle aimed at strategic realignment within the Majority Caucus. As part of this realignment, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, MP for South Dayi, is expected to take on the role of Majority Chief Whip, replacing Governs Agbodza, who has transitioned to the Ministry of Roads and Highways.

Meanwhile, Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, MP for Cape Coast South, will now become the new Deputy Majority Leader, succeeding Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, who has moved to the Ministry of Energy. This reshuffle is likely to bring about significant changes in the parliamentary leadership dynamics.
