President John Dramani Mahama says he is determined to investigate the 2020 and 2024 election-related deaths, which claimed the lives of about 13 people, and punish the perpetrators to serve as a deterrent to others.

He said voting in an election is a civic right, and no one must take the life of the other in the exercise of their constitutional responsibility.

President Mahama reiterated this when the Ghana Catholic Bishops Conference paid a courtesy call on him at the Accra International Conference Centre.

On post-election, President Mahama said there is the need to take a second look at the Presidential Transition arrangements by deploying the security agencies to man government facilities to prevent people from taking advantage of the situation.

President Mahama encouraged the Ghana Catholic Bishops Conference to continue to remain the moral voice of the people.

He acknowledged the contribution of the Catholic Church not only in the spiritual upliftment of Ghanaians but also in the areas of health, education, and skills training, especially in the underserved parts of the country, and called for a partnership.
