John Mahama officially sworn in as Ghana’s President

John Dramani Mahama and Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang have been sworn in as Ghana’s President and Vice President, following their victory in the December 2024 elections.

The historic ceremony took place at Black Star Square in Accra, with thousands of Ghanaians in attendance, alongside international dignitaries and regional leaders.

Mahama, who previously served as President from 2012 to 2017, returns to lead the country with a renewed commitment to tackling economic challenges, promoting social development, and fostering national unity.

Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has also made history as Ghana’s first female Vice President, a groundbreaking achievement widely celebrated as a major step towards greater gender representation in leadership.
