National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama has vowed to reinstate the licenses of banks that were unjustly revoked during the financial sector clean-up.
Speaking at the NDC manifesto launch in Winneba on August 24, 2024, he pledged to rationalise the fees charged at the ports. He says his administration will also introduce measures to deal with the fall of the Cedi against the Dollar.
“We will rationalise port fees and charges and measures to stabilise the cedi and macroeconomic environment,” he stressed.
“We need a government that will allow all businesses to thrive, whether domestic or foreign no matter the ethnic, religious, or partisan colours of its owners.”
He also promised to review import duties and levies on vehicles and equipment meant for industry and agricultural purposes.
“We need to make a change – A change that will usher in a government that is responsive and accountable. A leadership that will crack the whip when its appointees go down the wrong track.”
