Lawyer and Governance Expert, Dr. Eric Oduro Osae has asked the Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu, to stop complaining about impediments to his work and apply the law establishing his office to get it running.

He said the law that establishes the office gives him enough powers to compel institutions reluctant to release information to his office, to do so.

Speaking on GBC’s Current Affairs programme, “Focus”, Dr. Oduro said he becomes surprised when the Special Prosecutor constantly goes to the media to complain when he has enormous powers to get the office functioning.

Acting Head of Programmes at Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition, Bright Sowu, said government should give serious attention to the office of the Special Prosecutor just as it has done for the free SHS policy.

He said the success or failure of the office will be attributed to the government.
