Minister-designate for Works and Housing, Francis Asenso Boakye, has bemoaned the non-existence of a clear institutional framework that will guide the country in the implementation of a Housing Policy.
He said to solve the housing deficit problem in the country, there is the need to establish a national housing authority to plan and manage the problem.
He said Ghana’s housing deficit is currently at two million units. By this, the country would have to build 200,000 units of houses each year for the next 10 years to bridge the gap.
Mr Asenso Boakye said if given the nod he would look for finance to complete the Saglemi Housing Project started under the NDC.
