Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Kwaku Asomah Cheremeh says the land for the construction of the National Cathedral is ready.

He said there are currently no issues with the land.

Answering questions when he spoke at the ‘Meet The Press series’ in Accra, Mr Asumah-Cheremah also stated that the ban on the harvesting and exportation of Rosewood is still in force.

He refuted claims that government intends to burn any Rosewood impounded by forest guards. He said government will find alternative use for the products when impounded.

Mr Asumah-Cheremah called on the MP for Builsa South, Dr Clement Apaak, to assist the investigating team to help arrest the alleged twenty trucks in his constituency loaded with Rosewood.

He said the war on galamsey is about 85 percent won. However, the sector minister admitted that some recalcitrant individuals and security personnel deployed to help in the fight against illegal mining are aiding the deviants to engage in it.
