The Minority Leader and Member of Parliament (MP) for Ajumako-Enyan Esiam Constituency in the Central Region, Dr. Casiel Ato Baah Forson, says the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, cannot absolve Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, from the mess he (president) has plundered the country into.

According to him, President Akufo-Addo cannot take the blame alone, and the Vice President is also to blame for what he says are the woes of the country.

In what seems to be a direct response to President Akufo-Addo’s claim that Ghanaians should hold him responsible for the country’s economic challenges, the minority leader explained that the president cannot, on any occasion, take out Vice President Dr Bawumia, the alleged economic whizkid, from the mess the country is currently witnessing.

The president delivering the 2024 SONA, unequivocally accepted responsibility for the current economic challenges, emphasising that executive powers are ultimately vested in the hands of the president.

He again acknowledged that the responsibility for challenges rests squarely with the president.

According to him, as the leader, he or she assumes the blame for the difficulties faced by the nation.

But the Minority Leader, didn’t take kindly to President Akufo Addo’s assertion.

He insisted that Dr Bawumia should be blamed squarely for leading the country into an unresolved economic crisis.

Dr. Casiel Ato Forson also took a swipe at President Akufo-Addo, saying he has ballooned again the number of his ministers by his recent reshuffle.

According to him, aside from the huge size of his government, unemployment is at an unprecedented high, leaving Ghanaians in abject poverty.

“Mr Speaker, today we have minister of finance domestic and minister of finance international,” he alluded.
