Minority leader charges NDC leadership to enforce elections guidelines

The Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Tamale South Constituency, Haruna Iddrisu has implored the leadership of the National Executive Council of the National Democratic Congress, National Democratic Congress, (NDC) to enforce the guidelines for the election of Parliamentary candidates for the 2020 elections with religious faith and without fear or favor to any person or individual.

Harruna Iddrisu who filed for his nominations this morning at the constituency office in Tamale urged the executives to allow for a competitive democratic process towards elections 2020.

The Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu is once again contesting for the NDC parliamentary primaries unopposed.

Mr. Iddrisu went unopposed and won in 2004, 2008 and 2012.

His victory in the 2020 elections will mean his fifth term as Member of Parliament and also twenty good years in Parliament.

Presenting his nomination forms to the Constituency Chairman, the Minority leader said his long term in Parliament is a clear manifestation that he is contributing his quota to the development of his constituency.

According to him the confidence reposed in him by his constituents to lead the party to victory in 2020 means they are satisfied with his works.

Touching on fairness in the election of parliamentary candidates, Mr. Haruna entreated the National Executives to ensure they go by the directives of the guidelines of the party towards the election of Parliamentary candidates.

The Tamale South MP, used the occasion to assure that the party will do its best to regain as many seats as possible in the region.

He therefore entreated constituency executives in the region to eschew bias and discharge their duties with all the fairness and openness they deserve.

Mr. Iddrisu called for unity in the party so that together they can employ the best strategies aimed at wrestling power from the NPP in the 2020 general elections.
