The Minority Caucus in Parliament has officially raised concerns over the continued chairmanship of the Ad-hoc Committee’s proceedings, submitting a memorandum to the Speaker of Parliament for his consideration.
In a communication addressed to the Committee’s leadership on February 10, 2025, the Minority indicated that it would await the Speaker’s response before taking any further steps regarding the Committee’s work.
“This should not be misconstrued as an unwillingness on the part of the Minority to engage with the Committee,” the statement clarified. “Rather, it is a necessary step to ensure that due process is followed, and the process remains fair, impartial, and credible.”
The Minority Caucus emphasized that the memorandum seeks to safeguard the integrity of the Committee’s work and uphold parliamentary principles.
They expressed confidence that the Speaker would address their concerns in a manner that fosters trust in the Committee’s proceedings.
