The Health Minister nominee, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has promised not to unfairly cancel contracts in the health sector if approved for the role.

He gave this assurance when he appeared before the Appointments Committee on Friday, January 31.

Mr. Akandoh stressed the importance of private businesses in developing the country and said he would not terminate agreements without good reason.

“The private sector is the engine of growth, and I will not cancel any contract without justification,” he said.

However, he also made it clear that he would review contracts when necessary to ensure proper accountability.

“If there is a need to investigate any agreement, I will do so,” he added.

He specifically mentioned the medical drone delivery service, describing it as a good initiative but noting that there are issues with the contract that need to be examined.
