Daffiama-Bussie-Issa MP assures massive victory for NDC in parliamentary and presidential elections

The NDC Member of Parliament for Daffiama-Bussie-Issa in the Upper West Region Dr. Sebastian Ngmenenso Sandaare has promised to give the NDC in the Parliamentary and Presidential elections massive victory, come December 7, 2024.

The MP made these declarations when was addressing hundreds of his supporters after filing his nomination forms as the parliamentary candidate for the 2024 parliamentary elections as he charged the supporters to join him for his house-to-house campaign for victory. According to him, recent hardship in Ghana is “unprecedented” and “it is important we join hands to bring the great NDC back to power for development and jobs under the 24-hour economy policy by our leader and the flagbearer of our party”.

“When you vote for me, vote for JM, and let me tell you, ND needs a majority in parliament to implement his big push policies”, he told the crowd.

Dr. Sebastian Sandaare was accompanied by the Constituency Executives and hundreds of party supporters to the District EC office to file his forms.

In the 2020 general election, the current MP for the area on the ticket of the NDC in person of Dr. Sebastian Ngmenenso Sandaare secured ten thousand and five hundred forty-three votes (10,543) presenting 56.50% of the total valid votes cast.

Mr. Nadi Imoro Sanda on the ticket of the NPP managed eight thousand one hundred and sixteen (8,116) representing 43.50% of the total vote. For the presidential John Mahama of the NDC obtained twelve thousand eight hundred and sic (12,806) presenting 71.28% to beat President Nana Akufo-Addo of the NPP who had just four thousand five hundred and seventy-one (4,571) representing 25.44%

Daffiama-Bussie-Issa Constituency is one of the eleven constituencies in Upper West Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Nadowli District in 1988; until the eastern part of the District was later split off to create Daffiama-Bussie-Issa District on 28 June 2012; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Nadowli-Kaleo District. The District Assembly is located in the western part of Upper West Region and has Issa as its capital town.

The seat is located within the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa District of the Upper West Region of Ghana. Its western neighbour is Nadowli-Kaleo District. To the north is the Jirapa and Sissala West to the east the Sissala East and to the South East the and Wa East to the south the Wa

The constituency was changed in 2012 when the initial Nadowli District was divided into the Nadowli-Kaleo District and Daffiama-Bussie-Issa District. Therefore, the Nadowli-Kaleo became the new constituency for the initial Nadawli West and the Nadowli East constituency was also changed to Daffiama-Bussie-Issa constituency.

Historically, the Constituency has been a safe seat for the NDC since 2012 with the late Puozaa Mathias Asuma the current MP taking over from 2016 to date.
