Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII) says it disagrees with the Special Prosecutor reporting the MP for Bawku Central, Mahama Ayariga to EOCO for sending people to beg on his behalf.
According to the GII, the Special Prosecutor has powers that exceed that of EOCO and therefore he must act under his powers.
Speaking to Radio Ghana, a Senior Programmes and Research Officer at Ghana Intergrity Initiative, Mary Awelana Addah said the GII is expecting more investigations from the office of the Special Prosecutor and this plea should therefore not be a stumbling block.
She said Mr. Amidu should come out with the names of those who came to him to plead on behalf of the MP to serve as a deterrent.
Madam Awelana cautioned those who are under the radar of investigation to stop or avoid sending people to go and beg on their behalf and allow due process of the law to take place.
