The Chairperson of National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Josephine Nkrumah says her outfit will issue a report that it collates from findings in the Ayawaso Wuogon violence during the recent by-election.
The NCCE Chairman said the report will be presented to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Madam Nkrumah was speaking at the launch of the 2019 University Civic Challenge, a constitution quiz competition for tertiary students from 20 selected Universities across the country.
She called on the youth to play an active role in national development by speaking up against political vigilantism.
The goal of the University Civic Challenge is to motivate students at the tertiary level to learn the contents of the Constitution in order to enhance their civic knowledge to become Ambassadors of the Rule of Law.
The objectives of this year’s challenge are to inculcate in the citizenry the awareness of the fundamental principles and objectives of Ghana’s Constitution through a play -and- learn format and the quest for further knowledge about political governance.
The Chairperson of the NCCE, Josephine Nkrumah said the competition will allow Students to gain more confidence in terms of public speaking and to properly articulate their views.
Deputy Minister of Information, Pius Enam Hadzide said the youth should be more active in the practice of democracy, to enhance more citizen participation.
The Intra – School Selection Competitions will start on February 13, and end with the Zonal Level Competitions which will be held from March 5, to March 21, 2019.
The Super Zonal, Semi-Finals competitions and the Grand-Finale will be a debate.
