The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has emphasised the party’s immense responsibility in assisting the formation of the new government.
Hon. Nketiah stressed that the NDC must play a critical role in ensuring a smooth transition, warning that Ghanaians will not forgive the party if it fails to deliver.
“We need to assist in the formation of the new government… The same enthusiasm with which we were brought up, it is that level of expectation [that Ghanaians look up to],” he stated during John Dramani Mahama’s inauguration as president on January 7, 2025.
The NDC chairman acknowledged the significant challenges ahead, despite the party’s victory in the recent elections. “We have a huge challenge and responsibility to make sure we do not fail Ghanaians. Victory doesn’t mean we don’t have challenges,” he added.
Hon. Nketiah’s remarks underscore the high expectations placed on the NDC by the Ghanaian populace, as the party seeks to deliver on its promises and address the nation’s pressing issues.
