The NDC has described NPP’s fight against corruption as a charade.
This is evident in the resignation of the former Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu.
Mr Amidu resigned on Monday on grounds of interference from government with specific mention of the President in the conduct of an anti-corruption assessment of the Agyapa Royalties deal.
His decision has been received with mixed reactions with some accusing the president of double standards in the fight against corruption.
Others have said the Special Prosecutor should have persisted and worked harder to prosecute corrupt officials.
Speaking at an emergency news conference in Accra, Communications Director of the NDC Sammy Gyamfi said the Special Prosecutor’s Office was only set up to spite those in opposition and not government officials who are corrupt.
Mr. Gyamfi referred to a tape circulating on social media where Mr. Amidu’s life is allegedly being threatened.
This the party says is alarming and questions government’s ability to fight corruption.
