The National Democratic Congress (NDC), has debunked claims by the Electoral Commission of chalking up great success at last year’s general election.

The EC Chairperson, Mrs Jean Mensah at a recent stakeholders meeting to review the last election, noted that there were a lot of achievements in the 2020 electoral process worth celebrating.

However, at a news conference on Thursday, May 20, in Accra, the NDC said the EC on the contrary oversaw the most flawed election in recent history.

Director of Elections, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah said cases of dubiously printed ballot papers, unprecedented number of ballot papers due to the use of unapproved ink pads and the use of illegal pink sheets marred the sanctity of the elections.

Mr. Afriyie Ankrah also pointed out insecurity and cold blooded killings during the 2020 Election as other lapses that marred the elections.

The NDC also rooted for an independent audit of the 202O Election Expenditure and called on the EC to pay the allowances of the 2020 Temporary Staff.
