The opposition NDC has expelled its former Deputy General Secretary, Koku Anyidoho, from the party.

In a letter to Mr. Anyidoho, the NDC said it found Mr. Ayindoho guilty of “misconduct and anti-party behaviour.

The expulsion comes after the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) acting in compliance of article 48 (1) of the NDC Constitution unanimously adopted a report to expel Koku Anyidoho.

Mr. Anyidoho had been serving a suspension that begun on February 8, 2021, after his consistent criticism of the party.

Speaking on Behind the News, the General Secretary of the Party Johnson Asiedu Nketiah said several attempts to reach Mr. Anyidoho to meet the Functional Executive Committee over his misconduct proved futile and Mr. Anyidoho proceeded to use unprintable words about the party.

Mr. Asiedu said Mr. Anyidoho cannot be “recognized as a member of the party and cannot carry himself following these various misconducts.

He said Mr. Anyidoho has further been directed to return any party property that may be in his custody.

Mr Asiedu Nketiah also refuted allegations that the party’s recent expulsion of some of its members makes it intolerant.

Reacting to the issue, Managing Editor of the Dispatch Newspaper Ben Ephson said Mr. Anyidoho’s expulsion does not come as a surprise.

This is because his expulsion was however evident due to the issues that he has been alledged to have done.

He said Mr. Anyidoho may decide to test the waters by challenging his expulsion in court or may let it slide.
