Mr Fiifi Kwetey, General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called on party supporters in the Volta Region to tell others about the NDC’s campaign messages of hope ahead of the 2024 general elections.

He said the NDC winning the December polls would serve as an opportunity to correct many wrongs that had gone on over the past eight years.

Mr Kwetey speaking during the NDC’s Volta Regional Rally at Hohoe, said the Party was not supposed to lose the Hohoe Parliamentary Seat in 2020 hence the opportunity should not be given for it to be lost again.

He urged the party supporters to go from house to house and tell them that the election was important to reset the country.

Mr Kwetey said Hohoe was a place of pride and power hence the Party must remain united and committed.

He said although the Party had not done enough, it was unacceptable for people who identified themselves with the Party to leave.

Mr Kwetey noted that a win for the New Patriotic Party in the December 7 elections meant that despite the hardship citizens endured, they could be ‘bought’ with money during an election year.

He said it had come to the notice of the Party that citizens of the Volta Region were being asked at various entry points into the Region including Sogakope and Asikuma to produce identification before crossing into the region adding that the Party was appalled by the new development.

Mr Thomas Worlanyo Tsekpo, Hohoe National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate, urged the electorate to ignore campaign messages that were divisive instead of development issues.

He asked the electorate to fully support him and Mr Mahama to continue the needed development the Constituency deserved.

Mr Mawutor Agbavitor, Volta Regional Chairman, NDC said the Party was together, united, and focused for the “battle” ahead.

Mr Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, Ho West Member of Parliament (MP) called on the electorate to vote for Mr Tsekpo to ensure that the NDC won all the seats in the Volta Region.

Mr Governs Kwame Agbodza, Adaklu MP, said the NDC was not going to entertain any form of oppression of party members during the electioneering period.

He called on the electorate not to vote “skirt and blouse” adding that Mr Mahama pledged that he would complete the Eastern Corridor Road and the Fodome Campus of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS).

The event, which was marked with a walk, was attended by hundreds of party supporters.
