The NDC has filed an injunction application at the High Court, in Accra, seeking to restrain the Electoral Commission from going ahead with the printing of Parliamentary ballot papers and notice of poll for the Amenfi Central Constituency.

This follows the EC’s disqualification of the Party’s parliamentary candidate, for Amenfi Central, Joana Gyan Cudjoe, due to an injunction order by the Sekondi High Court, over a lawsuit challenging the eligibility of Mrs. Cudjoe was the NDC’s candidate for the December polls.

The NDC argues that the EC’s decision to go ahead with the printing of the ballot papers when the matter has not been settled would undermine the legal process and the rights of their candidate.

In the application, the NDC is asking the Court, an order to restrain the EC from printing or distributing ballot materials for Amenfi Central, until the legal issues surrounding Cudjoe’s disqualification are fully determined.
