Stakeholders in Ghana’s Election 2024 are meeting in Peduase, in the Eastern Region to build consensus for Electoral Reform and Inter Party- Dialogue, in a bid to build a positive momentum for peaceful, free and fair General Election.

Convened by the National Peace Council of Ghana (NPC), the aim of the Conference is to build on the Ada Dialogue organized in June 2021, which sought to promote consensus and open spaces for political tolerance in Ghana after the 2020 elections. The event also seeks to evaluate institutional progress towards building the required resilience for credible, transparent, and peaceful general elections in 2024.

Among the highlights are calls for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to return to the Inter-Party Advisory Committee, IPAC.

The National Democratic Congress refused to attend an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) scheduled for Wednesday, April 21, 2021. The meeting was aimed at giving the various political parties the opportunity to review the December 7, 2020, general election.

At the Peduase Stock-Taking Conference, as part of preparations towards the 2024 General Election, EC Chairperson, Jean Mensa appealed to the NDC to return to IPAC.

‘’We miss them, we miss their fire,’’ Mrs. Mensa said, while extending an olive branch to the NDC, to return to the discussing table to contribute to the conversations that underpin Ghana’s Electoral processes.

Board Chairman of the National Peace Council, the Rev. Adu Gyamfi, also appealed to the NDC to return to IPAC to propel consensus building, ‘’go back and restore confidence in the system’’, he told the National Democratic Congress.
