The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has presented a petition to the Electoral Commission (EC) today, on September 17, 2024, as part of its nationwide “Enough is Enough” protest.

The NDC called for an independent forensic audit of the voters’ register ahead of the 2024 general elections, citing concerns about discrepancies, such as alleged bloating and improper transfers in the voter register.

Led by the party’s National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the NDC outlined ten demands in the petition.

These included a bipartisan investigation into the EC’s handling of the register, the immediate publication of audit findings, and a re-exhibition of the register once the audit was complete.

The NDC stressed the importance of these measures to ensure a free, fair, and transparent election.

The protest took place across all 16 regions of the country, with Deputy Commissioner of Operations, Samuel Tettey, receiving the petition on behalf of EC Chair Jean Mensa.

Mr. Asiedu Nketiah underscored that electoral integrity was non-negotiable for the party and urged the EC to prioritize transparency in the election process.
