Information coming from the Volta regional capital Ho indicates that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) chapter office in the region has been set on fire by unidentified individuals.
According to eyewitnesses, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNF) moved swiftly to the scene and successfully extinguished the fire, preventing further destruction.
Reports indicate that the attack resulted in extensive damage, with computers, fans, photocopiers, and crucial documents destroyed in the blaze.
It is believed that the act of vandalism may have been a reaction to President John Dramani Mahama’s omission of a Ho Central indigene from his recent ministerial appointments.
The police and other security authorities have yet to identify the perpetrators let alone confirm their motives, but investigations according to sources within the NDC are ongoing.
The incident has sparked widespread condemnation and calls for calm in the region.
