The Flag Bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has pledged to abolish the teacher licensure examination if voted into power.
He made this statement at the launch of the party’s youth manifesto where he criticized the current education system, promising to make teacher licensing a part of the final year program in colleges of education and also implement strategies to address teacher accommodation challenges in rural areas.
According to the former President, he will dedicate funding to complete the E-Blocks in Senior High Schools and abolish the double track system.
The NDC in the youth manifesto also promised to implement a 24-hour economy which will allow for one job to be shared in three shifts to create more employment opportunities where a job for one person will be done by three.
Mahama also stated that the NDC government will work with telecommunication companies to provide free WIFI services in schools and public places, and incentivize the private sector to operate for 24 hours as the 8-hour work system the country currently operates is ‘’woefully inadequate’’.
Mahama urged Ghanaians to “vote wisely for change,” emphasizing that “elections have consequences.”
The NDC’s youth manifesto focuses on addressing unemployment, improving education, and boosting the economy. The party promises to create more job opportunities and ensure all children have access to quality education.
